This is BMW&#8217;s first <strong>all-electric Gran Coupe<\/strong>, also with the performance focus the manufacturer is used to.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, an all-electric BMW 1602e was used at the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics to film the athletes. Several decades later, BMW has perfected its electric mobility.<\/p>\n<p>The interior of the BMW i4 stays true to the luxurious look we&#8217;ve come to expect from the company.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;20250&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;20249&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]The 2022 i4 is equipped with two juxtaposed screens, one behind the steering wheel (12.3 inches) and the other on the center console (14.9 inches).<\/p>\n<p>This curved screen gives the effect of a huge dashboard, very modern. The ergonomic curves allow a better view for the driver.<\/p>\n<p>Harman\/Kardon speakers with 205 watts of power are included in the original equipment. It will offer a <strong>range of 475 km<\/strong> and produce up to 335 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque as well as a rear-wheel drive.<\/p>\n<p>The i4 eDrive goes from <strong>0-100km\/h in 5.7 seconds.<\/strong> The vehicle is also equipped with variable front shocks and a rear air suspension to add comfort and handling. The i4 eDrive also rides on 18- or 19-inch wheels depending on customer preference.<\/p>\n<p>The starting MSRP is <strong>$54,999<\/strong> and is subject to an<strong> $8,000 subsidy<\/strong> as this vehicle now falls into the 100% electric vehicle category.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;20246&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The i4 M50<\/span><\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;20251&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]The second model is the <strong>i4 M50<\/strong>, which will have<strong> two electric motors<\/strong> with xDrive, offering 536 horsepower doing <strong>0-100km\/h in 3.9 seconds.<\/strong> However, this model has a slightly <strong>lower range of 385 km.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Interestingly for speed enthusiasts,<\/strong> it is possible to temporarily <strong>add 67 horsepower<\/strong> and 48 lb-ft of torque with the <strong>&#8220;Sport Boost&#8221; mode<\/strong> available only on the i4 M50.<\/p>\n<p>This vehicle features an adaptive M suspension with anti-roll bars, which can also be added as an option on the eDrive40. This model is equipped with 19-inch wheels, M performance brakes and a mixed tire package. Like the i4 eDrive, the M50 is offered with an 83.9 kWh battery.<\/p>\n<p>MSRP starts at <strong>$69,000<\/strong> and is also subject to an <strong>$8,000<\/strong> electric vehicle subsidy.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Range_and_charging\"><\/span>Range and charging<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>On the recharging side, the 2022 i4 can go from 0% to 100% charge with a level 2 terminal, while a fast charge terminal fills the battery from 10% to 80% in about 31 minutes. However, BMW claims that it is possible to increase the range by about 145 km with a 200 kW terminal in just 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the &#8220;My BMW&#8221; application allows you to locate the various charging station locations across the country. From the ECO PRO mode offering you high acoustic comfort, to the SPORT mode with a powerful and dynamic sound in the cabin.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sustainable_and_more_environmentally_responsible_production\"><\/span>Sustainable and more environmentally responsible production<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The i4 will be produced in Munich, Germany and will be delivered to Canadian retailers in the first trimester of 2022. Interesting fact about production: the BMW i4 is sustainably produced using only green electricity.<\/p>\n<p>The company advocates the use of sustainable materials in the design of their vehicles, such as natural rubber, kenaf and econyl.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, by 2030, BMW <strong>will reduce by 20% the CO2 emissions<\/strong> created by the production of vehicles.
