Part 1<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div>\n<p>Nadine and I received a lovely invitation to visit Ontario\u2019s Highlands on a girl&#8217;s motorcycle trip. <strong>What a wonderful idea<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>We took to the roads from my home in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu to the Highlands. After a few hours of riding, we arrived in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perth.ca\/en\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Perth<\/a>, but before we made it to our accommodations, we made one stop joining the two other girls we would be riding with, Charlotte and Cecilia.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_moment_in_another_world%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>A moment in another world&#8230;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We met up at <a href=\"https:\/\/ridethehighlands.ca\/en\/listing\/woody-039-s-cycles\/113\/49\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Woody&#8217;s Cycles<\/a>. This unique destination has a motorcycle cemetery with thousands of motorcycles there. You will also find a <strong>motorcycle museum<\/strong>, an <strong>enduro bike track<\/strong> and even a <strong>KTM dealer<\/strong>. This is a must for any motorcycle lover, and if you go there, take some time to chat with Woody, the owner!<\/p>\n<p>After getting to know each other and visiting at Woody\u2019s, we did a short ride to Perth. This waterfront town charmed us immediately.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24733&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>We were welcomed like queens at the <a href=\"https:\/\/ridethehighlands.ca\/en\/listing\/best-western-plus-perth-parkside-inn-and-spa\/45\/21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Best Western Plus Perth<\/a>. This was our homebase for the length of our trip in Ontario! I recommend staying here as they are very motorcycle-friendly, and you can do many loops with beautiful routes from this location.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_quick_trip_to_Mexico\"><\/span>A quick trip to Mexico<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24739&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>For dinner I was spoiled because<em><strong> I LOVE Mexican food<\/strong><\/em>. \ud83c\udf2e<\/p>\n<p>I have been to Mexico several times and memories of delicious meals are still fresh in my memory! I can guarantee that at <a href=\"https:\/\/ridethehighlands.ca\/en\/listing\/mex-and-co-\/80\/21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mex &amp; Co.<\/a>, it\u2019s like enjoying a meal in Mexico!<\/p>\n<p>On top of the great food, we had a wonderful view on the <a href=\"https:\/\/watersheds.rvca.ca\/subwatersheds-reports\/tay-river\/catchment-reports-tay-river\/191-tay-river-town-of-perth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tay River.<\/a> Beautiful and delicious, it starts strong.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24737&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>After our first meal together, it was time for a good night&#8217;s sleep. I was excited to see what tomorrow would bring.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_good_coffee\"><\/span>A good coffee<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24725&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The most important thing in the morning is a kickstart to the day with a <strong>good coffee or tea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After hitting the road, our second day started well at <a href=\"https:\/\/ridethehighlands.ca\/en\/listing\/oh-el-la-cafe\/295\/19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oh-el-la Caf\u00e9<\/a>! A very cute little place with friendly people and an <strong>ESPECIALLY<\/strong> <em>good matcha latt\u00e9<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>We took the time to look at our route on our <a href=\"https:\/\/ridethehighlands.ca\/en\/order_free_map\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ride the Highlands map<\/a> and we were ready.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24727&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The morning started great riding the Highlands with it curves and breathtaking landscapes.<\/p>\n<p>I really felt like I was alone in the middle of nature. When you ride a motorcycle, you are looking for <strong>adventure and freedom<\/strong>. This is exactly what I found here.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A feeling of escape in the middle of all this vast forest and water.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s what I felt, and it was just the beginning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24735&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Just when I thought my day as a biker was at its peak&#8230; came my favourite part of the day, and my trip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"From_the_farm_to_us\"><\/span>From the farm to us<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24729&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ridethehighlands.ca\/en\/listing\/back-forty-artisan-cheese\/266\/19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Back Forty Artisan Cheese<\/a> is a little <strong>hidden paradise<\/strong>, where you feel like you are driving in the middle of nowhere and you arrive to this place.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a cute little artisan farm where delicious cheeses come to life.<\/p>\n<p>As if that&#8217;s not enough, they make homemade pizzas in a wood-burning oven. To tell you the foodie in me was thrilled. Fresh pizzas made in front of us by the chef; we felt so privileged. I speak for all the girls, this was a unanimous favorite \u2764 , and it was delicious.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24745&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Back Forty Artisan Cheese was an <strong>experience<\/strong>. There\u2019s a beautiful lake, animals, and gourmet food. It\u2019s beautiful and rustic; honestly you have to put this place on your itinerary!<\/p>\n<p>We didn\u2019t want to leave the place, but we were excited for the roads ahead. So, we got on our bikes and hit the road.<\/p>\n<p>The roads back to Perth were just as beautiful as the morning as curves and nature accompanied us on the road.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Back_to_Perth\"><\/span>Back to Perth<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24667&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>I repeat, Perth is a charming little town. You can feel the history at every turn, and we were always happy to come back after each day of riding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24657&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>After a day in the greatness of the Highlands, we were ready to chill in a place that felt like home.<\/p>\n<p>We went to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiddleheadsbarandgrill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fiddleheads<\/a>, where we received friendly service and comforting food.<\/p>\n<p><em>It was perfect! <\/em><\/p>\n<p>It was a great place to end the evening&#8230; we had a lot of fun!
