style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">I had the incredible opportunity to visit the town of <a href=\"https:\/\/kirklandlake.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kirkland Lake<\/a> in Ontario by snowmobile. It is a beautiful town with a population of just under 8,000. The <strong>Snowdrifters Golden Corridor<\/strong> alone has over 300 km of groomed trails. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The trails are wide and well-maintained; you won\u2019t be afraid to ride too close to an oncoming snowmobile. The trails have several bridges to cross bodies of water and the views from them are always breathtaking. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The area is surrounded by lakes with clear, easy-to-see signs for a safe crossing. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The Golden Corridor Snodrifters Club\u2019s President, Mike, along with his volunteers, always makes sure to have spectacular and safe trails. The team spends several hours working on them so that you have a memorable experience. You can also check the trails conditions every day on the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=987105266781321\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Golden Corridor Snowdrifters Kirkland Lake &amp; Area<\/a> Facebook page.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> I also strongly recommend that you download the <strong>Go Snowmobiling Ontario app<\/strong> where you will find all the establishments in your area and the trail conditions of the entire region. A taxi service is also available if you prefer to let your snowmobiles rest for dinner. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">You can go directly to historical sites, stores, restaurants, convenience stores and hotels with your machine! Citizens are very courteous when they come across a snowmobiler driving through the city streets; for them, it is completely normal.<\/span><\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;34898&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;34900&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;100px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">Most restaurants provide a space for people to leave helmets and equipment to dry during a good hot meal. This shows how well received snowmobilers are.<\/span><\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kirkland_Lakes_good_eats\"><\/span>Kirkland Lake&#8217;s good eats<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">We visited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kenogamibridgeinn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Bridge Restaurant &amp; Bar<\/a> which is located on the edge of Kenogami Lake, which gives it a magnificent view from the dining room. The menu is very varied and everyone finds something to their liking. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">The trail to get to this restaurant opens directly into its parking lot. How convenient! A large trail map is posted in the entrance of the establishment so that you can visualize the rest of your itinerary before leaving.<\/span><\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;34859&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;34835&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">As I mentioned above, everything is accessible by snowmobile and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/alink\/link?url=https%3a%2f%2fwww.facebook.com%2ffederaltavern%2f&amp;source=serp-local&amp;h=hXqrUvu4P1XVzvNsHOde8qNKK25uap0F%2fzJQKojWoaQ%3d&amp;p=lw_lstp&amp;ig=40DB10061C14499E92DD13EBDF0CAD17&amp;ypid=YN1255x25636035\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Federal Tavern<\/a> restaurant is no exception. It is located in the city and you can get there with your snowmobile without any problem. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">The trail opens a few streets before the restaurant and you only have to drive through town for a few minutes at the wheel of your machine to park directly at the tavern. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">The Fed is the ideal place for dinner and a good drink after a long day of traveling kilometers of trails. The pub atmosphere with the fireplace in the corner of the dining room will charm you.<\/span><\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;34861&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;34863&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Another place to visit during your stay is definitely <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheMuddyMoose\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Muddy Moose Restaurant<\/a>. A large parking lot for snowmobilers is located in front of the restaurant. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Once again, the trail comes out a few blocks further up and you casually drive through the village to get to your destination. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">You can&#8217;t miss it with its big moose erected in front of the building! It&#8217;s a friendly place with a full and varied menu.<\/span><\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;34914&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;34912&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">During our trip, we had the honour of meeting the Mayor of Kirkland Lake, <strong>Mrs. Stacy Wight<\/strong>, a very inspiring woman. She is the first woman to officially hold the position of Mayor in Kirkland Lake.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"fr-FR\">Kirkland Lake is a mining town, and seeing a woman at the head of it shows us that women are starting to make more and more of their place in unconventional environments. Mrs. Wight is really friendly and approachable and very appreciated by her citizens. People even stop to say hello to her. What a magnificent hotel! The hotel has a spacious parking lot so you can leave your vehicle and its trailer there. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><strong>The snowmobile trails start directly from the parking lot.<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The employees are welcoming and attentive. The hotel has a large heated indoor pool and even a spa to relax in after a great day exploring the region. You will also find a gym where you can stretch to start your day off right. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">And what about the rooms? They are spacious and well designed to have plenty of space. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">A continental breakfast is offered every morning. Toast, waffles, cereals, muffins, sausages, juice and coffee are at your disposal. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The Microtel is an eco-responsible hotel, which means that everything is designed to be ecological. It is very honorable of them to be eco-responsible without neglecting the comfort offered to their customers.<\/span><\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;34890&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;34902&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">This region is a little gold nugget to visit by snowmobile. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">There are so many possible itineraries, whether it&#8217;s a short ride around the city or several kilometers on the forest trails.
