Review of the Kimpex AGV K3 Helmet : The Perfect Balance of Style, Comfort, and Safety
I don’t know if it’s just my imagination, but I’ve been noticing more and more AGV helmets on the road lately. With their distinctive racing-inspired design, they really catch the eye. So when I was offered the chance to test the AGV K3 (a model I already thought looked stunning in photos), thanks to a partnership with Kimpex, I jumped at the opportunity.

My First Impressions
As soon as I took my new helmet out of the box, I was impressed by how light it was. It’s the kind of detail you notice right away and that promises a high level of comfort during long days on the bike.
As I handled the helmet for the first time, I had fun opening the various vents and operating the lever for the built-in sun visor. I found everything to be very smooth, precise, and pleasant to use. Nothing feels flimsy or difficult to operate, which is especially appreciated when wearing motorcycle gloves!
The inner padding also makes an excellent first impression. The materials are high-quality, and you feel comfortable the moment you put the helmet on.

Comfortable and Convenient
One of the features I particularly appreciate is the built-in sun visor. It lowers smoothly using the small handle, which is both discreet and easy to reach. I find this incredibly handy when riding from a shaded area into direct sunlight, or during long riding days that stretch into the evening after the sun has set…all without having to change visors or wear sunglasses. Just like my beloved heated grips, ever since I started riding with helmets that have a built-in sun visor, I couldn’t possibly do without it!
In fact, AGV has even thought of motorcyclists who wear glasses thanks to its “Eyewear Ready” interior, designed to comfortably accommodate prescription glasses.
The ventilation system, consisting of several front air intakes and a rear vent, promotes good airflow on warmer days. The DrySpeed lining, meanwhile, helps effectively wick away moisture and sweat, which greatly enhances comfort during long summer rides.

Impressive visibility
One of the K3’s standout features is undoubtedly its immense field of view. The AGV Ultravision visor offers up to 190° of horizontal vision, allowing for better awareness of traffic, obstacles, and the surrounding environment.
The helmet is also equipped with the Pinlock 70 MaxVision system, designed to minimize fogging on cold, damp, or rainy days. It’s a small detail that instills great confidence when the weather turns less cooperative.
Reassuring Safety
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the AGV K3 helmet is designed to provide robust protection. According to the company, the high-strength thermoplastic shell and its multi-density internal structure help effectively absorb energy during an impact. AGV has also incorporated a design feature intended to limit potential pressure on the collarbones during an impact. It’s the kind of detail that demonstrates real thoughtfulness behind the helmet’s design.

A unique look that turns heads
As I said, the look was already one of the reasons this helmet appealed to me.
The ombre pink details on this version are absolutely gorgeous… it’s even more beautiful in person than in photos! I think they add a touch of sophistication while still maintaining a sporty feel. Combined with the helmet’s angular lines and sculpted silhouette, they create an aesthetic that I’d describe as both futuristic and elegant.
I especially love how AGV manages to blend a racing-inspired design with a finish that’s classic and sophisticated enough for everyday use.

The Verdict
Are AGV helmets really more popular than before, or is it just because I’ve become a fan of the brand that I notice them so much more often? Ever since I tried the K3, I see them everywhere!
Here are the things I love most about this helmet:
- It’s lightweight and comfortable
- I love the built-in sun visor
- It has a very wide field of view
- It offers excellent ventilation and anti-fog technology
- Its design is truly safety-focused
- Its distinctive design, which blends a racing look with a more classic style, definitely turns heads.
In short, the AGV K3 manages to be as stylish as it is functional. For motorcyclists looking for a versatile helmet that can handle both their daily commutes and weekend getaways, it’s definitely worth considering. As for me, I’ve just added a real gem to my collection, and I’m in love!
