Everything you need to know about the 3 Segway’s Snarler models
Are you familiar with Segway‘s gas-powered vehicles?
When I think of Segway, I think of those two-wheeled electric vehicles often seen in the old port of Montreal. When I ask people around me, they answer without hesitation; two-wheeled scooters?
Indeed, these machines and their scooters offer a lot of fun. But the product offer does not stop there. Segway has launched into gasoline and hybrid all-terrain vehicles as well as side-by-side. With its line of quad vehicles, Segway offers power, comfort, safety, advanced technologies and guaranteed fun!
It was during the official unveiling of these gas-powered machines that I was able to discover the full range of Segway ATVs. And I can tell you that I am very satisfied with what I discovered.
Without further ado, let me introduce you to Segway’s line of gas-powered ATVs
Before I get started, I’d like to point out that Segway differentiates itself from other ATV manufacturers by their attention to detail in every machine they make. The three models I tested, the Snarler AT6SE, SX and LX, all have similar features that I liked right away. I particularly liked their overall look.
The LED lights remind me a bit of Tesla’s look. Very modern and a little futuristic at the same time. Then, the foot steps that add to the look a little rugged side. The bright color inserts on the footboards, the grille and the bumpers are simply WOW.
But one particular detail that I loved and think is a necessity is the dedicated knee space. Segway designed a recess in the front fenders to avoid bumping your knees when driving. Very nice detail and very practical!
To finish this part, the whole range of quads offer a breathtaking design, sophisticated and simplistic curves and A1 quality construction. This comes from a team of designers working to improve and offer a refined look with a Segway flavor. How to surround yourself with the right people is the key to success!
Difficult weather conditions!
The weather was not the easiest during our stay in Baltimore at the Mike River Ranch for the Segway quad test. Unfortunately, it rained a lot and it’s not ideal to test a machine in these conditions. Since everything is soaked, we can’t fully test the braking and the execution of some maneuvers. However, I can assure you that I had a lot of fun in the fields, trails and mud!
A little lesson in nomenclature!
In order to enlighten you and help you understand each model, I offer you a little lesson in the interpretation of the abbreviations of each model. This one goes as follows: you will see below the S which means “Short” for single seater and the letter L for “Long” 2 seats. The E stands for “Entry level” and the X means that the model is high end!
Without further ado, here are the three models I tried!
The Segway Snarler AT6SE
The SE model is an entry-level model. But be careful, entry level does not mean low quality. The SE model is ideal for simple use without too many expectations on the performance side. At first glance, I found the look of the Snarler SE very innovative and refined.
Kudos to the design team for offering us a different quad that lives up to Segway’s reputation. The model I tried was black and grey with blue insertions in the grille and suspension. The whole thing was perfectly arranged and well balanced. It is very comfortable and I would say much more than many models I have tried before.
I had a lot of fun driving the SE model. It’s light and responsive in general. However, I did notice that it is more difficult to pivot when making sharp turns. I had to use all my weight to do my driving maneuvers well. The Snarler SE is fun to ride, it is powerful and works very well on wet surfaces and in the mud. All in all, this first model is a good quad and the riding feeling is very pleasant.
Special features :
- Gasoline model
- 4 cylinders 570cc
- CVT transmission
- Adjustable hydraulic suspension
- 12 inch steel wheels
- 3 disc brakes
- Tank capacity of 23 liters
- Intelligent control system
- Digital display
- Front and rear shock absorbers
- Steel Rack
- Single seat
- Halogen and LED headlights
Segway Snarler AT6SX
The Snarler SX is a step above the SE model. The ride is much smoother than the SE. The SX model is clearly distinguishable from the SE with its winch that can pull up to 2500lbs.
Its comfort and handling are a bit more developed than the previous model. It is easier to handle, it reacts well in the mud and on trails and above all, it is very comfortable.
During the test ride, I immediately noticed that these details make the SX a quad perfectly adapted to the real sense of fun and driving. A good value for money! The model I tried was black and green. But don’t get me wrong! Because it’s not the color of the quad that differentiates the models.
The three quads are available in 3 colors: Green, Red and Blue.

Segway Snarler AT6LX
The Cadillac of the Segway’s quads! If you are looking for comfort and power, the Snarler LX is the quad for you. This model is longer and features a double bench with a passenger backrest for more comfort.
The LX model is ideal to go on an adventure with a passenger. It offers the same power as the other models (570cc) but comes with a winch and a tow ball that can pull up to 3000lbs. This quad can do heavy work! On muddy trails it is extremely efficient.

What I particularly liked about the 3 Snarlers
I must say that I really enjoyed my test of the three Segway quad models. I must also say that Segway stands out from the competition by its attention to detail but especially by the technology of these machines. Moreover, their weight and center of gravity are extremely well distributed and the power steering makes driving maneuvers much easier. Acceleration is smooth and powerful at the same time.
Here are some additional features that make Snarlers so special!
Did you know that you can make certain commands remotely with your cell phone?
You can actually lock your quad using the Segway app. This means that no one can leave with your vehicle; key or no key! You can also receive notifications in case of dangerous driving. And this even if you are not the one driving your Snarler. So when I tell you that Segway differentiates itself by its advanced technology, I am not lying to you!
That said, there is one point that I would improve and that is the ability to make tight turns. As I mentioned earlier, with the Snarler it is difficult to do such a maneuver. However, you will still have a lot of fun driving this line of quads!
In closing…
I loved the discovery of the Segway vehicles. They are fun to drive, their design is breathtaking and the Snarlers’ technology makes them fierce competitors in the four-wheeled vehicle market.
I would like to thank Segway Canada and Chicks And Machines for this great opportunity to try them out. I remember nothing but positive things from this great adventure!
