It’s always nice to have as much information as possible on protection gear before we do our purchase, so I decided to test the Eve jacket and pants from Olympia for you.
Table of Contents
First, let’s take a look at the specs
First of all, this textile kit is made of mesh and polyester EVO TREAD 600 for abrasion resistance. You gonna ask me what the 600 means, well polyester is measured with denier. Denier is the weight used of yarn in grams for 9 kilometer, in this case the yarn weight 600 grams for 9000 meters. In the motorcycle industry, they usually use between 500D to 1000D, more the number is high, more the fabric is resistant to abrasion and more the cost of the protection gear is expensive.
The jacket has of course protection pads at the elbows, the shoulders and a back protection certified CE2.
This European certification indicates that the average residual force must be under 9kN (kilonewton), with an allowed impact up to 12kN. For the pants, they have protection paddings at the knee and at the hips.
1. The mesh fabric
The duo is really ventilated with its mesh fabric, which is really appreciated on a hot summer day. The rain layer is removable and can be wear on top or under the jacket depending on the weather. You can also wear the rain layer separately as it’s a jacket by itself. The pants have a removable rain layer as well that you install inside of them.
2. The strength
The structure of the jacket has been strengthened at the front mesh panels by a polyester panel that make it stronger in case of a crash.
3. The visibility
On the visibility side, this model is made with reflective piping in front and on the back. It is available in 4 different colours choices: yellow high vision, white, grey and black. Of course, the yellow neon is one of the most visible.
4. The price
The price is affordable for all the adjustments and options. The suggested retail prices by Olympia are $244.99 for the jacket and $199.99 for the pants. * All the prices could possibly changed by the supplier.

My experience
For the hot days, the mesh is more than appreciated; it has a good breathability and keeps us well protected. When days are a bit cooler or rainy, you just have to wear your waterproof liner. For cold temperature like we find at the beginning and at the end of the riding season, I suggest you to wear a warm under layer or a heated vest while wearing the waterproof layers to protect you from the wind.
On the hanger, the jacket and the pants seemed heavy, but I didn’t felt the weight while riding. Take a note that the jacket fits a bit bigger than the typical European brands and you might need one size down than normally. At the last straw, the adjustments can compensate for the difference in sizing.
For who this kit is?
This outfit is more for road customers riding a sport touring and it can also be for a rider who has an adventure bike, especially with the high vision colour. Of course, it doesn’t mean you can’t wear it on an other type of motorcycle. The Eve pants have a style a bit more versatile than the jacket and can also be appreciated by the sport or even touring bikers.
In conclusion
I hope that my review of the Olympia Eve outfit will help you to do a smart choice in your protection gear research. If you are looking for something affordable, ventilated, confortable with adjustments, that comes with waterproof liners and has a lot of visibility, the Eve matching jacket and pants is what you are looking for.
