2023 Motorcycle Show – Can-Am makes its mark!
I don’t know if you remember, but it was in 2007 that the giant BRP set out to conquer the road. The very first Spyders were born and approximately 2,500 units were sold that season. They’ve covered several miles since then and it’s not about to slow down.
Indeed, 2022 sales have tripled compared to 2018. Here are some figures to give you some perspective:
For the year 2022

When you think about it, that’s very, very encouraging data for the powersports industry. So BRP has nothing left to prove and it has its place among the greats at the most eagerly awaited meeting of enthusiasts; The 2023 Montreal motorcycle show.
A kiosk that will amaze you!
I could see, throughout the event, that Can-Am’s playing field didn’t stop rumbling all weekend. It was one of the largest of all those present at the Palais des Congrès and we saw it as soon as we entered the convention hall. (well played! )
In addition to the presentation of its traditional Spyder and Ryker models, you could find new clothing, an ATV and an SSV at the back of the booth so as not to steal the show.
But the icing on the cake, in the foreground, were the two models of electric motorcycles announced last August. On a pedestal, one could admire for the very first time, the “Pulse” (naked bike style road motorcycle) as well as the “Origin” (dual-purpose motorcycle).
To get you back into the swing of things, last spring, BRP announced its return to the world of two-wheelers for the year 2024. I wasn’t born yet, but according to my sources, they were ultra-efficient in the world of motocross. in the 70s.
We can therefore say that they have a fairly glorious history in two wheels and that they hit the bullseye by offering a 100% electric range. At the dawn of a market’s shift towards vehicle electrification, Can-Am has done its homework well and has chosen to bet on the future.
Although it was impossible to touch them or put your bum on them, I was able to examine them from every angle. Both sporting black, gray and fluorescent yellow, an LED front headlight, a rear single arm and a somewhat futuristic look (without looking too much like a prototype). They have a look that will turn heads, that’s for sure, even if they are not the final versions.
Unfortunately, we know very little about their performance in these and it was the comment that came up most often from enthusiasts. Of course, more details will be announced during the August BRP Club since the delivery of these beauties will take place Spring 2024.
The name of the game? Price and range will be what will tip the scales among motorcyclists.
Can-Am, Women of on-road
Since nearly 40% of Can-Am’s on-road customer base is female, they took advantage of Friday’s “Ladies Night” to spoil the ladies. Gift bags containing various accessories were given to the women who came to the kiosk throughout the evening.
But do you know the Women of on-road movement? It’s a community of women that was created a few years ago so that they could feel confident and push their limits. This initiative aims to help women overcome obstacles and allow them to develop their passion for driving by feeling included in the group.
At the time of this writing, the “Women of On-Road” Facebook group is made up of 16,900 members from all over the world. They share advice, offer support and inspire each other. Through this movement, Can-Am is committed to investing in women-focused initiatives.
The “Ride for a New Beginning” in collaboration with Sports DRC is a good example. Can-Am has also been a partner of the Chicks And Machines podcast since the very beginning.
In conclusion
This remarkable presence at the Motorcycle Show was a success all along the line. Once again, BRP stands out for its desire to be close to its customers. In addition, I felt that prejudice against three-wheelers is now a thing of the past.
After all, the figures I mentioned to you above show that the Can-Am on-road community continues to grow. You have to realize that they are here to stay and that’s perfect.
It doesn’t matter what you ride, as long as you live your passion with respect and harmony.
We all have the same desire, the desire to feel the same when we start the engine of our machines; that feeling of freedom! Now that the season is launched, we will be impatiently awaiting the announcements concerning the family of two wheels, but I am not worried since the future seems to want to smile on the Quebec giant which is constantly innovating and pushing the limits.
I feel the dealer backlog is going to fill up!
See you next time!
