Discover the RAVE from Lynx
It’s not every day you get the chance to test drive new snowmobiles. In March 2021, I had the incredible opportunity to test ride some 2022 prototypes. I took this opportunity without hesitation and with great enthusiasm. Thanks to BRP, I was able to try out the brand new Lynx Rave RE, a trail sled like no other.
It’s with the great team of Chicks and Machines and my charming friend Émilie Cloutier that I had the chance to try the superb RAVE. We were able to discover this unique machine in spring conditions. “Unique” is the perfect word to describe it. Why is it so unique? Because it is first and foremost a vehicle designed for trails, but adapted for extreme conditions.
Certainly, it did not let me indifferent. Believe me, it was, without a doubt, my favorite! And if I let you discover my experience…

A little bit of history
First, let me tell you the story of the Lynx RAVE RE. This snowmobile was imported from Finland to North America for the very first time in 2021. Although new to Canada, Lynx products have been around for many years. They have proven themselves in Scandinavian countries before coming here.
The Lynx RAVE RE is a trail snowmobile that has been tested on snowcross trails. Although it is designed for the trail, its 2-stroke engine and its very different ergonomics make it very aggressive and playful in the trails.

The Rave, a very different model
The RAVE is very different from other trail snowmobiles. Although it has a 165hp BRP 850 E-TEC engine, the BRP RAVE RE (Racing Edition) is primarily designed for rougher trails and more difficult conditions than those we experience here in Canada.
Also, the Lynx RAVE has its own skis, the Ski Blade XC+. These allow for more precise control as they are longer, narrower and lighter. The distance between the skis is wider than the distance between the skis on a trail snowmobile, at 42.2 inches, giving the machine a total width of 48.5 inches. This allows the RAVE to float on ungroomed trails while remaining very stable.
The RAVE RE also has its own suspension. Up front, it features adjustable KYB shocks, which allows for quick access to several settings. It is then possible to adapt the machine to different conditions.

The PPS3 rear suspension takes the ride to a new level. The RAVE’s suspension is progressive, offering ideal control at both low and high speeds. Weight transfer is better controlled. The RAVE offers a better sensitivity to movement and more comfort.
The Lynx RAVE is equipped with a 137″ x 15″ x 1.5″ studded track (Ice Ripper XT) for optimal traction performance on both snow and icy trails.

Mission accomplished!
As you can see in the video, there were smiles and excitement. It was an unforgettable experience. This type of machine attracts me a lot because of its rather playful side and especially because of its incredible stability. It’s aggressive and sporty, just the way I like it. The Lynx RAVE is a powerful machine and the accelerations are quite impressive. With each stroke of the throttle, the RAVE is lifted up, which gives the kind of excitement you want in a sporty machine.
However, it is important to have a good counterweight in the curves because, despite its incomparable width, it lifts easily.
Once again, BRP gave us the opportunity to experience incredible sensations behind the wheel of this amazing machine. BRP once again gave women a chance to take their place in this typically male world. Émilie and I were at the height of our happiness.
Thank you BRP for this golden opportunity. Thank you also to Chicks and Machines for allowing us to discover this world of incredible machines and for making us live these exciting adventures.
See you soon,
