My Trip to New Brunswick, Snow Paradise!
Looking for snow in the middle of March? I found it! I was lucky enough to visit one of the few regions in Canada that was blessed with snow during the winter of 2024: New Brunswick, mainly Moose Valley.
Eight thousand kilometers of trails cover the area—8,000 kilometers of pure fun—and 20,000 members ride these snowy routes throughout the season.
These are by far the most beautiful trails I’ve had the chance to explore in mountainous terrain, where snow still hides even in mid-March. Our adventure lasted three days, which meant three mornings waking up to a fresh layer of snow covering our snowmobiles.

The Grey Rock Casino
We crossed the border between Quebec and New Brunswick in the afternoon to reach the Grey Rock Casino hotel. Located in Edmundston, this hotel has 85 rooms, a casino with 190 slot machines, hybrid games, and two restaurants where I got to enjoy many local specialties.
The famous steaks at the Valley View Restaurant alone are worth the visit.
A covered walkway connects the guest rooms to the main building, where all the services are located. This hotel regularly hosts snowmobile tourists from all over, offering garages in case of a breakdown or simply to keep your snowmobile warm before heading back out.
Arrival at the hotel from the trails is through a tunnel lit with multicolored lights—a grand entrance that makes you feel welcome from the very first seconds!
After our delicious dinner, it was snowing heavily, so we seized the opportunity to start our photo album. The illuminated tunnel provided the perfect magical backdrop for the best shots!

Six and a half hours later, the alarm rings. We open the curtains, and joy! It’s still snowing! Nothing beats this for a winter sports fan to start the day, but oh, how cruel since we couldn’t enjoy it immediately. Our departure was imminent. At 7 a.m., we boarded the Chicks Mobile, heading toward the picturesque winter landscapes of the Northwest.
Moose Valley Sporting Lodge
Once we arrived, my excitement to finally ride my machine was at its peak. Without delay, we started our snowmobiles and headed out to explore the endless white trails in the area.
From the snowy roads, we could glimpse the massive mountains surrounding the trails, as well as beautiful rivers, streams, dense forests, natural maple groves, winding landscapes, and vast flat areas.
In short, it’s impossible to get tired of looking around (of course, the priority is looking straight ahead!).

In the afternoon, we traveled to the border between New Brunswick and Quebec. You can really go on a snowmobile adventure starting from New Brunswick, as countless regions are accessible from this central point. Plan your winter “road trip” with Snowmobile-Motoneige NB to ensure your experience is 100% optimal and unforgettable!
Warmhearted People
One of the things that struck me most during my trip was the hospitality and passion of the staff. Moose Valley Sporting Lodge, founded in 1994, welcomes ATV enthusiasts, hunters, and snowmobilers year-round.
The lodge offers a variety of services: dining, fuel, rental of beautiful small cabins, and snowshoe trails. Naturally, the federation trails pass nearby. A growing and diverse clientele from all over Canada, the United States, and even Europe enjoy these facilities.
Welcomed in person by the owner during our stay, we were guided to our cabin to drop off our luggage. It was a cozy small log cabin with a full bathroom, a living room, and a bedroom with two beds—everything needed to recover after a long day of trail riding.
On our second day of riding, Robin from Moose Valley Sporting Lodge invited a friend to join us. I met extraordinary women with whom I explored trails toward the Restigouche Cabins.

Located in Kedgwick River, along the Little Main Restigouche River, these charming small cabins and a campsite offer a lovely spot to warm up around a beautiful fireplace and snack with friends.
Here, they know exactly what a snowmobiler needs! Their ultra-efficient mitt dryer lets you hit the trails again dry.
You can also admire antique snowmobiles of all brands. These women, sharing the same passion for snowmobiling as me, were all enchanted by the miles of white trails, cozy lodges, breathtaking scenery, and the warm welcome from New Brunswickers.
This trip allowed me to discover trail snowmobiling and better master riding techniques on groomed trails. I noticed that trail snowmobiles are much easier to handle than off-trail riding.
Proof: my companion on this adventure had never driven a snowmobile before, and she loved her first experience. Moreover, this sport is accessible to women of all ages.
Trail trips like this let you escape in peace since the risks of getting stuck are almost zero, breakdowns are rare, and the days are much less physically demanding.
You can also take a guided discovery package, which includes a guide—so no headaches getting from point A to point B.

New-Brunswick, A Trip to Repeat
I loved my experience in New Brunswick. I discovered a new side of my passion for snowmobiling and a truly spectacular region—win-win! Anytime, I would hop on my snowmobile to explore this vast playground in the neighboring province again.
Thanks to this trip, I made a personal promise to myself: to do at least one trail ride per season! And yes, despite my great passion for off-trail riding, I discovered the advantages of this branch of the sport, such as the simplicity of the ride. It’s a great way to clear your mind and gives my extreme-sports-loving body a nice rest.
I hope this article inspires you to plan your next winter trip—not to tropical countries, but to the trails of New Brunswick!
See you soon!
