Too often classified as a baby boomer bike, the 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour is not what you think it is. It’s also often associated with those who choose it for their retirement… But think again.
This bike is amazing and has completely changed my vision of this beautiful two-wheeler. How many of you have tried it?
Before judging it, here is what I thought of it!
To all those who think that a woman cannot ride it…
At first glance, it is an impressive motorcycle because of its large size. But, once you sit on it, it will surprise many.
When I first saw the 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour, I thought to myself:
Hey there…Will I be able to drive it?
The answer is YES!
Despite its size and its impressive weight of 800 lbs, the 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour is the best balanced motorcycle on the market in its category. With a powerful 1833cc engine, it will surprise you for sure! It’s comfortable as can be and has state of the art equipment.
I can assure you that it is more equipped than my own car ?.
And what about its smart key… No need to put the key in the ignition, you just have to keep it with you and it will start! I love this gadget. The 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour is the perfect bike for your long distance trips. So, are you ready to give it a try?
Road Test
I can already hear you saying that there’s nothing easier than riding a motorcycle on the highway… But with the 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour, the road makes sense.
Even at 800 lbs, it’s still easy to handle. Don’t let its weight fool you, because with its extraordinary balance, you’ll be able to appreciate its many advantages too.
Its low, flat motor lowers the center of gravity and makes it easy to maneuver. It is so comfortable that you will hardly feel any obstacles on the road. So goodbye potholes and welcome comfort!
Riding this bike for long distances is a pleasure. I guarantee that you will say goodbye to aches and pains because it is adapted for long motorcycle trips! You will be able to ride long and comfortably. The 21-liter tank capacity allows you to ride long distances without having to stop for fuel.
Its 1833cc engine is extremely powerful and allows you to overtake without fear of running out of power. And what about its acceleration! If you want power, you won’t be disappointed!
I’m sure you’ll have as much fun as I did testing this bike at higher speeds. But be careful and respect the speed limits.
Test ride in the city
As mentioned above, the 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour is THE best balanced bike in its class. So, riding it is a charm, even in the city, when frequent stops are inevitable. Its low center of gravity ensured good handling when I had to stop at lights, stops and when I had to turn to change streets.
It also offers plenty of storage space. Great for travel or short rides. You can even go shopping because there is a lot of space!
Its look
The 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour is very pleasant to ride and once it’s running, it handles with ease. Its athletic look will not leave anyone indifferent. I’ve turned heads! Its redesigned look gives it a sporty style despite its Touring categorization. It is lighter, bolder and more powerful than previous generations.
It offers immense protection from both falls and bad weather. Its sporty lines are a perfect match for its new personality. Its raised look allows a good view of the engine and chassis, which is a plus for this bike in my opinion!
The storage compartments are extremely large. The upper rear trunk has 61L of storage capacity, allowing for two helmets if needed. The side panniers offer a capacity of 30L each, so in total, you have 121L of storage at your disposal. That’s huge and so practical!
Its equipment and characteristics
Windshield
Here, we talk! The 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour is equipped with an adjustable electric windshield: a highly appreciated accessory during long rides. It provides extra protection against wind and weather.
If you adjust it higher for more protection, the windshield will return to its lower position when you turn off the ignition. And when you start the car again, it will return to the position you set it to. Smart, isn’t it?
LED lighting
The lighting on this bike is really impressive. For my taste, it’s simply beautiful and very practical! You will be seen and you will see everything on your way at night. In fact, its LED lighting will fill you up night and day!
The simple lines of the headlights, taillights and turn signals are simply sublime and offer outstanding visibility. I can even use the word intense to describe its lighting in one word! Visibility is a must and Honda has thought of everything.
Electronically controlled suspension
Its electronic suspension allows you to adjust your comfort to your liking. Four adjustment modes are available to allow for absolute comfort while maintaining power.
Among the modes offered, you can choose between: rider only, rider with luggage, rider with passenger and finally rider with luggage and passenger. These options are very popular and ensure that comfort remains the watchword!
The wheels
The wheels on the 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour are simply beautiful. With a 200mm rear tire and a tire pressure monitoring system, this bike offers stability and handling. The wheels are black and look great.
Navigation screen
The 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour offers a 7-inch navigation screen. Not being used to this kind of equipment, the size of this screen is quite impressive. The dashboard is your information center! Its LCD screen offers satellite-linked navigation and shows you a map and routes in real time.
Its Bluetooth connectivity provides a great connection to your cellular devices so you can connect your music for more fun. You have access to Siri and your text messages, and it’s compatible with Apple, Apple CarPlay and Android.
Smart Key
As I mentioned a little earlier, the smart key is a favorite for me. No need to put the key in the ignition! You just have to keep the key close by and off you go! It starts at the touch of the start button.
Hill Start Assist
Are you one of those people who get anxious when starting on a hill? Well, with the 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour, that worry is a thing of the past. Equipped with Hill Start Assist, it will prevent you from backing up as this feature mobilizes the bike for 3 seconds. This feature will give you more confidence in such situations.
Handy Reverse
Yes, yes, you read that right! This bike is equipped with a unique reverse function. With its impressive weight, you will be delighted to use this option.
This system will allow you to easily pull out of a parking space, park and perform any maneuver that requires reverse. Personally, I loved this feature. Goodbye unnecessary stress and hello ease of handling!
The seat
Honestly, I’ve never sat on a motorcycle this comfortable. Both the driver and passenger seat, you will love it. And even more so because it offers a heated seat system for both driver and passenger. You have to admit that it’s not common to have heated seats on a motorcycle! A gadget that I particularly appreciated.

The final word
In conclusion, I can confidently say that I was completely blown away by this bike. I had a lot of apprehensions before my test ride, but all my fears disappeared the moment I hit the road.
Yes, this bike is impressive, but it deserves to be discovered. It rides like a charm and its comfort is unmatched. From my 5’7″ height, I can tell you that I enjoyed every moment I rode the 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour. I had both feet flat on the ground and its sway gave me maneuverability and riding confidence.
Even though the Gold Wing is not the type of bike I would buy for myself, I enjoyed every minute of it. I can also tell you that if you still think that this bike is for babyboomers, well get out of the way, because it has plenty of power!
